Your responsibilities, Design, build and operate Java-based backend services used across Lufthansa Group., Develop cloud-native microservices, REST APIs and event-driven integrations., Take ownership of the full software lifecycle – from solution design and implementation to deployment, monitoring and continuous improvement., Work with Kubernetes, CI/CD, distributed messaging and modern DevOps practices., Use AI-assisted engineering tools and help us explore new approaches to software development., Collaborate with engineers and other roles in cross-functional product teams.

4+ years of professional Java development experience., Hands-on experience with microservices and distributed systems., Experience with REST APIs and event-driven architecture (e.g. Kafka)., Practical experience with containers, Kubernetes and CI/CD., Understanding software architecture, clean code and engineering best practices., Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code or similar., Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills., Professional working proficiency in English (B2/C1)., Availability to work in a hybrid model – 2 days per week in our Gdańsk office.
