Our offer is addressed to people who:

Have foundational experience or academic background in building classical ML/DS solutions (such as regression, classification, clustering, time series) and data analysis using SQL.
Understand classical ML algorithms, their strengths, weaknesses, and basic hyperparameter tuning techniques.
Know how to evaluate model performance using statistical metrics and diagnose basic data & mapping quality issues.
Can explore data effectively by writing cost-efficient SQL queries, aggregating data, and creating clear reports or visualizations to deliver actionable business insights.
Are capable of ingesting, validating, and transforming tabular data and product metadata into features ready for modeling.
Can map business challenges (e.g. product relevance, mapping accuracy, trend detection) into analytical/modeling problems.
Write readable, clean Python code following standards and best practices, with awareness of basic testing (e.g. unit tests) and cloud cost optimization basics.
Possess practical and theoretical knowledge of Generative AI & Agentic AI principles (prompting, validation, agent workflows) and enthusiastically leverage AI-assisted coding tools (e.g. Copilot) to accelerate daily work.
Communicate clearly and proactively, presenting findings and insights effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Speak English and Polish at a B2+ level or higher.
Graduated with a degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Physics (or similar quantitative field) or have early-career experience in Data Science / Data Analytics positions.

We are looking for a Data Scientist with a strong analytical and business mindset - someone who enjoys decoding market mechanisms, tracking emerging product trends, and applying statistical models to solve complex platform puzzles.

Our team drives the logic that powers a trustworthy and competitive marketplace. As part of the Marketplace organization dedicated to delivering the best experiences for our buyers and sellers, we specialize in data-driven solutions focused on driving their growth - particularly through identifying market-relevant products, monitoring and optimizing product mapping quality for internal processes, and building robust reporting to extract actionable insights for business teams.

Moreover, we are actively leveraging cutting-edge AI to build agentic workflows that capture emerging trends and feed critical intelligence back into partner-support processes. We work in close collaboration with developers and product teams across the entire project lifecycle, from ideation to implementation.

Why should you work with us?

Data Science plays a key role in the operation of Allegro - through your models, trend insights, and mapping tools, you will directly influence business decisions and partner growth.
You will participate in cutting-edge projects, including building Agentic AI systems and automated trend detection in a large-scale e-commerce ecosystem.
Support of experienced Data Scientists - there is always someone to exchange ideas with, as we have top specialists and experts on board.
Access to huge data sets and state-of-the-art data processing technologies in GCP (BigQuery, VertexAI, Cloud Composer, Dataflow, Airflow, PySpark, Gemini/GPT models).
Opportunity to learn best software engineering, code quality, and MLOps practices in practice.
We share knowledge at industry conferences, host internal meetups, and actively co-create the DS/ML community in Poland and globally.

What's in it for you:

Well-located offices (with e.g. fully equipped kitchens, bicycle parking, terraces full of greenery) and excellent work tools (e.g., raised desks, ergonomic chairs, interactive conference rooms).
A 16" or 14" MacBook Pro or corresponding Dell with Windows (if you don't like Macs) and all the necessary accessories.
A wide selection of fringe benefits in a cafeteria plan - you choose what you like (e.g., medical, sports or lunch packages, insurance, purchase vouchers).
English classes that we pay for related to the specific nature of your job.
A training budget, inter-team tourism , hackathons, and an internal learning platform where you will find multiple trainings.
An additional day off for volunteering, which you can use alone, with a team, or with a larger group of people connected by a common goal.
Social events for Allegro people - Spin Kilometers, Family Day, Fat Thursday, Advent of Code, and many other occasions we enjoy.

Send us your CV and... see you at Allegro!
