Lead Verification & Validation Engineer (EV powertrain, automotive)

Miejsce pracy: Warszawa

Your responsibilities

  • Develop, own and execute the DVP&R process across the V-model for EV powertrain products, from requirements through verification to validation reports.
  • Define test and validation strategies based on system requirements, functions and System-of-Requirements (SoR), ensuring complete functional decomposition, test coverage, traceability and verification of all system features.
  • Plan, schedule, coordinate, monitor and execute validation activities, including environmental, durability, performance and regulatory testing, working with internal teams, suppliers and external test facilities.
  • Investigate system behavior at the data level, digging into raw measurements, CAN logs and oscilloscope waveforms to identify anomalies and failure mechanisms, tracing them back to root cause through targeted experiments, and defining the re-test and regression activities required after hardware, software or calibration changes.
  • Oversee the test environment: test benches, test data processing and prototype preparation.
  • Lead the V&V team (prototyping, standards, dyno software), managing its priorities, resources and development, and reporting V&V status and risks to the CTO and customers while aligning with the Hardware, Software and Functional Safety program leads.

Our requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in automotive powertrain testing and validation, including 2+ years leading a technical team.
  • Proven experience owning V-model and DVP&R processes for automotive products (EV, e-drive or power electronics preferred).
  • Ability to analyze system requirements, define test cases and ensure traceability from requirement to test result.
  • Practical knowledge of automotive standards and validation processes (e.g. ISO 26262, ASPICE, ISO 16750).
  • Experience planning and coordinating validation programs with suppliers and external test facilities.
  • Fluent English.

Optional

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Automotive or a related engineering field.
  • Experience building or developing test benches (dyno) and test data processing pipelines.
  • Familiarity with CAN, CANoe, CANalyzer or similar tools.
  • Experience with requirements and test management tools (DOORS, Polarion, Jama, Codebeamer).

We are looking for a Lead Verification & Validation Engineer who treats testing as proof, not paperwork. You know the difference between a test that was run and a requirement that was actually closed, and you're not satisfied until you've seen the evidence yourself.

This is a senior, hands-on role. You will own the DVP&R process end to end: translating standards and customer requirements into executable test methods, planning and coordinating validation activities with suppliers and test facilities, and personally digging into raw CAN logs, oscilloscope traces and measurement data when results don't add up. You decide whether the evidence is strong enough to close a requirement, not just whether a test was executed. At the same time, you will lead the team that builds and runs our test environment, prototyping, standards and dyno software, setting priorities and growing their capability.

If you have the technical depth to hold your ground with a functional safety engineer, the judgment to tell a real failure mechanism from noise, and the seniority to own a program's validation story in front of the CTO and the customer, this role gives you the mandate to build that function from a position of real technical authority.
