Set and provide guidance on optimal markdown parameters.
Set and provide rules based on category financial plans.
Determine optimal markdown strategy.
Recommend and execute optimized, progressive clearance markdowns or multi-buy promotions maximizing profit and sell-through, including utilizing forecasts of changes in sales, margin, and unit demand with markdown recommendation.
Monitor performance: review and validate actual performance against projections and expectations to identify underperforming items or categories and adjust markdown strategy to meet financial targets (partner with Planning team).
Develop and maintain standard and ad-hoc analyses for use in monitoring and reviewing SKU, category, and department markdown financial results compared to plan.
Identify trends and leverage analyses to formulate future plans and forecasts.
Supports development/implementation of new markdown pricing optimization tools and processes.
Support change management through partnership with key cross-functional business areas such as Planning and Buying.
Our requirements
Minimum 2 years of experience in Price and Inventory Management or Merchandise Planning; experience in a retail environment is preferred.
Master’s degree, preferably in Economics, Product Management, Production Management, Mathematics, Commerce, or another relevant technical field.
Excellent proficiency in MS Excel (essential).
Very good knowledge of MS Word and MS PowerPoint (experience with Power BI is a plus).
Knowledge of Microsoft Power add-ins (e.g., Power Query, Power Pivot) is a plus.
English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
