Must have
- Browser automation (Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium)
- AI-assisted testing tools (Claude, Copilot, or LLM-driven tooling)
- Functional & exploratory testing
- Manual testing
- Python
- TypeScript / JavaScript
- API / integration testing
- Polish
- English (B1)
Nice to have
- CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar)
- .NET
- Performance & load testing (k6, Locust, JMeter)
- Cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
- Test strategy & QA process design
- Experience across modern and legacy stacks
Your Profile
- You care whether the satisfies users needs, not just whether the tests are green.
- Comfortable across both manual/exploratory testing and AI-driven automation — and clear-eyed about when to use which.
- Technical enough to script and direct browser automation and get real leverage out of AI tools. You don't need to be a software engineer who lives in a test-code repo.
- Curious and hands-on with AI-assisted workflows (Claude, Copilot, Cursor, LLM tooling).
- Pragmatic and tool-agnostic — no task too small when a release is on the line.
- Experience across varied environments (consulting, freelance, agency, product, or startup).
- Comfortable in a small, distributed, high-autonomy environment.
- Clear communicator in a distributed, English-speaking team.
QA Engineer — AI-Driven Testing
Merit
Category: QA / Testing · AI · Automation
Level: Mid–Senior
Location: Remote (Poland-based)
Company: Merit Holdings
Reports to: Head of AI & Technology
Start: ASAP
About Merit
Merit is a holding company that acquires, manages, and builds software businesses in niche verticals over a very long period of time.
We are taking an AI-first approach to modernizing and expanding our portfolio — helping our companies move faster, make great technology choices, and explore new product opportunities.
Our internal technology group supports both our investment operations and our portfolio companies. We're growing an engineering team that operates both internally and as a forward-deployed team across our portfolio — tackling high-impact projects wherever we identify opportunities to deliver value.
Role Overview
We're looking for a QA Engineer whose job is to make sure our software actually does what it's supposed to do. That's the point of the role — not hitting a coverage number, not maintaining a large test-code codebase, but verifying that features behave correctly for real users, across a range of products and stacks.
The way you'll do that is increasingly AI-assisted. We want someone genuinely good at pointing tools like Claude at browser automation (Playwright and similar) to automate the repetitive verification that used to eat a tester's day — and who also knows when a human still needs to click through it themselves. When manual or exploratory testing is the right call, you'll do it, and you won't treat it as beneath you.
This is a pragmatic, hands-on role for someone who is product-minded, tool-agnostic, and comfortable moving between manual work and AI-driven automation depending on what actually gets a release out the door with confidence.
We're tech-agnostic — we choose tools based on business value, not ideology.
Why Join Us
- Work directly with a technical founder who's still hands-on.
- Own whether real products across multiple software companies actually work.
- Help define what AI-first QA looks like from the ground up.
- High autonomy, clear priorities, and technical mentorship.
- Competitive compensation for Poland-based talent.
