Lead the technical work within R&D projects for new medical devices and support released products from a design, manufacturing and product-performance perspective.
Lead industrialization efforts, bringing ideas and prototypes to mass production.
Improve and streamline manufacturing process together with production teams.
Plan and coordinate engineering activities across the R&D process.
Drive Design for Manufacturing activities for plastic and metal components, with particular focus on injection molding, tooling, manufacturability, process capability and component quality.
Lead structured problem-solving activities for design and production issues, including root cause analysis, nonconformities, corrective actions and CAPA support.
Contribute to risk management, usability, pre-clinical testing and preparation of technical and quality documentation in accordance with the Quality Management System and applicable medical-device requirements.
Cooperate closely with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Operations, clinical experts, technical consultants and suppliers, ensuring clear priorities, decisions, actions and technical deliverables.
Our requirements
M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Biomedical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a closely related technical field.
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in R&D, medical-device development, product engineering or a similar technical environment; 5+ years is strongly preferred.
Experience with project management, cross-functional teamwork and prioritization of own and team activities.
Practical knowledge of Design for Manufacturing, injection molding, tooling and the relationship between product design, manufacturing process and component quality.
Strong hands-on experience in mechanical design of small plastic and metal components, including interpretation and preparation of 2D/3D drawings, tolerances and technical specifications.
Experience with Creo or Solidworks, alternatively with other relevant CAD software.
Experience in the medical-device industry and knowledge of relevant standards and regulations are highly advantageous.
Fluent English, both spoken and written.
